Properties:
White crystalline powder, soluble in most organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers, ketones, etc., almost insoluble in water.
Mode of action:
Selective systemic herbicide. Salts are readily absorbed by the roots, whilst esters are readily absorbed by the foliage. Translocation occurs, with accumulation principally at the meristematic regions of shoots and roots. Acts as a growth inhibitor.
Usage:
low-toxic herbicide; appropriate for crops as maize, soybean, sorghum, peanut, sunflower to control procumbent speedwell, piemarker, Kochia scoparia, cleavers, nightshade and dead nettle etc. Applied pre-emergence or pre-plant incorporated.
