Properties: Free-flowing white crystalline powder, Odorless or with a slight odor of sulfur dioxide, not soluble in ethanol, soluble in sodium hydroxide solution. Strong reaction with water and burn.
Usage: It is widely used in the textile industry for vat dyeing, reduction cleaning, printing and stripping, textile materials bleaching. It is also used in bleaching paper pulps, especially mechanical pulp; bleaching kaolin clay and foodstuffs. As a reducing agent, it is used in organic synthesizing.
