Properties:
Butachlor is a kind of amide internal absorption conduction type selective pre-bud herbicide, also known as noramine, Machet, meilaote, pure product is light yellow oily liquid, with a slightly aromatic taste. Insoluble in water, soluble in a variety of organic solvents. The chemical properties are stable under normal temperature and neutral and weakly alkaline conditions.
Mode of action:
Selective, systemic absorbed primarily via germinating shoots. Inhibition of mitosis and cell division.
Usage:
Used pre-emergence for the control of annual grasses and certain broad-leaved weeds in rice, both seeded and transplanted. It shows selectivity in barley, cotton, peanuts, sugar beet, wheat and several brassica crops. Effective rates range from 1.0-4.5 kg/ha. Activity is dependent on water availability such as rainfall following treatment, overhead irrigation or applications to standing water as in rice culture.
